Location
Hotel Capitan Suizo rests on Playa Tamarindo, one of the most beautiful Pacific coast beaches in all of Costa Rica. Directly on the beach, the hotel is surrounded by large, native trees and lush, colorful gardens.
Playa Tamarindo is 200 miles from San Jose, 45 miles from the International Airport in Liberia, and 2 miles from the local airport in Tamarindo. It is one of many beaches in the northerly province of Guanacaste, which area claims the last tropical-dry forest remaining on the planet. Even during the rainy or green season, sunshine prevails for up to 8 hours every day, and for at least 10 hours during the high season.
Room and Bungalows
Right on the beach in Tamarindo, Capitan Suizo consists of 8 thatched-roof bungalows and 22 rooms, each spacious and comfortable, with a patio or balcony. Steps away are the huge free-form pool and open-air restaurant and bar.
Bungalows and rooms feature a mezzanine bedroom with king-size bed, and sliding doors that open to a tropical garden. Private bathrooms include enclosed shower and deep bathtub with window view. Bedroom closets have wicker-mesh to let clothing breathe. Decor of natural stone floors harmonize with red hardwood trim, offset by sofas of greenish-blue. Halogen lamps inset in the ceiling provide superior lighting; alternatively, soft-lit lanterns cast a romantic spell.
The bungalows and all of the rooms on the second floor are built in such a way that air conditioning is not needed. Rooms on the first floor have a/c. Each unit is equipped with a telephone, an FM/AM radio, a safety box and a small refrigerator.
The owner's Apartment
The owner's apartment is available for large families or for those who like to travel in large groups. The apartment is situated on the second floor of the main building and overlooks lush, tropical grounds. There are four bedrooms; one bedroom has a king-size bed with a ceiling fan and a balcony; the second bedroom consists of one full-size bed and a/c; a third bedroom has two single beds, a/c and balcony; and the fourth bedroom has a single bed and a/c. The apartment has two bathrooms, both with double sinks. One bathroom has a whirlpool, shower and bidet, while the other has a bathtub/shower. A well equipped kitchen opens to a spacious and comfortable living room with five ceiling fans, direct T.V. and an immense balcony. The entire living space with balcony is approximately 275 square meters.
Recreational Activities
A complete recreational service is also offered to the guest of The Hotel Capitan Suizo.
Day trips to many well known national parks can be arranged also by Capitan Suizo"s personnel.
Horseback riding is an enjoyment you do not want to miss, specially during the sunset , on the beach, with the gentle seabreeze caressing your face (the hotel has 20 well trained horses).
Snorkeling, kayaking, fishing and boat trips with the resort custom built boat, are other of the many sea activities you can take pleasure from visit at Tamarindo.
Table tennis, badminton, handcraft shopping (ask for the famous "Pucas" collars) and golf are also offered by the Resort.
