About Costa Rica
Costa Rica is located 10 degrees latitude north of the equator and 86 degrees longitude. It has been divided in several different micro climates. We are located in the Intertropical Convergence Zone which means that we only have tropical weather and not four different seasons like other regions of the world. Let us define.
Caribbean
On the Caribbean side from 0- to 1500 feet above sea level we find the Tropical Humid Forest.
Tortuguero National Park.
Here we find in greater quantities the Howler, Spider and White Face
Monkeys, Sloth's, Caymans and Crocodiles amongst mangrove Tropical Bird
Species. The Mangrove vegetation provides the perfect environment to observe
these animals within our visit to the Tortuguero Canals
Northern Plains
On the North Central Region, and heading towards the Central Mountain Range from1500 feet 4500 feet we find the Tropical Rain Forest.
Arenal Volcano National Park.
Still Toucans and Monkeys can be observed while you drive along our roads,
but our main attraction is to witness the most intense Geological Experience
by observing the Arenal Volcano. After 6:00pm central time the Lava is
observed bright red as it slides down on the side of the most active volcano
of Central America. Experience the relaxing Tabacon Hot Springs next to
this amazing phenomenon.
Central Volcanic Mountain Range
From 7500 feet to 10500 feet at the Central Volcanic Mountain Range we encounter one of the most enchanting forests of Costa Rica known as the Tropical Cloud Forest.
Montverde, Santa Elena and Selvatura Preserves
Montverde is recognized as a Romantic and Bohemian destination mixed in with the true ornithologist willing to observe the most beautiful bird in the world the Resplendent Quetzal. In combination with the Tropical Cloud Forest, ecotourism enhances this distinguished town in the country side region of Costa Rica. Candle light dinners at the Italian or Argentine cuisine in between the chilling atmosphere prepare you for the early morning walks at the Montverde, Santa Elena or Selvatura Preserves according to your final particular choice.
North Pacific
Sunny Costa Rica is the best way to describe this region. From 0 to 1500 feet on the North Pacific side, Luxury Resorts combine extreme comfort and commodity in between the Tropical Dry Forest.
Guanacaste
This is the North Pacific Province of Costa Rica. Here we can find several National Parks like Playa Grande, where in season we can observe the green and leather back turtles nesting, Rincon de la Vieja, where we can hike in the park grounds and observe the coati mundis around the boiling mud or visit several properties where the Canopy Tour, Horse back Riding, hot springs, hanging bridges and even a 1200 feet water slide in between the forest can be found, Palo Verde, one of the most important stops for migrating birds in Central America. Central Pacific
Hot and dry describes this region. Like the North Pacific, this area offers variety as well. From 0 to 1500 feet we find the Transitional Forest. Luxury combines in between different tours and the Manuel Antonio National Park
Jaco and Manuel Antonio National Park.
As Transitional Forest we find Carara Biological Reserve. Besides the howler and the White Face Monkeys to have been seen, the Scarlet Macaw is the greatest attraction to be observed. This big red parrot feeds from the date palms, abundant in this park. Manuel Antonio National Park is recognised as the most beautiful beach on the Middle Pacific. Again the Monkeys, sloth’s and the coati’s mundis are common in this habitat. The white sand beach creates a perfect relaxing atmosphere in between the almond trees which provide shade next to the ocean.
